Action A1: Set up of an Integrated Information System (IIS) in 3 countries (France, Italy, Austria)
Description and methods employed:
This action sets up the Integrated Information System (IIS) (aerobiological/chemical air quality and medical recommendations) for the improvement of allergic respiratory diseases management in general population samples.
The content of this action can be summarised as follows:
-
Installation and development of the pollen monitoring system through a continuous aerobiological sampling in Pisa, Vienna and Paris; the monitoring will be performed using the Hirst volumetric sampler (1952), called Pollen Trap (VPPS 2000). The sampling procedure and the count of the airborne pollen grains and fungal spores is based on UNI 11108 and installation weather station near Pollen Trap (VPPS 2000). This sampling will result in a description of annual cycles of pollination – sporulation, thus laying the basis for the development of the pollen and spores calendar.
-
Installation and development of the non-conventional air pollutants (ultrafine particles) monitoring system in Pisa, Vienna and Paris: spot monitoring will be performed using the optical condensation particle counters.
-
Setting up of data collection of conventional chemical pollutants concentrations (particulate, O3 from monitoring stations of the Agency for Environmental Protection in Pisa, Vienna and Paris.
-
Integration of the aerobiological and chemical information with meteorological data from pre-existing weather stations, with weather forecast using the WRF - ARF ECM, WRF - ARF GFS models.
